What is Open Source?

Open Source software is generally developed and supported in a public, collaborative manner by a volunteer community of developers, users, corporations and governments. The source code for open source software is available to an open community to review, use, modify and freely distribute. The most well-known Open Source project is Linux. According to CIO Insight 2006, 81 percent of companies today have deployed or are considering deploying Open Source applications.

Barracuda Networks supports Free and Open Source Software projects through hardware, code, bandwidth and other contributions. In addition, select Barracuda Networks products utilize Open Source code. Barracuda Networks makes regular donations to Open Source developers and organizations, while encouraging our employees to utilize and give back to the Open Source community.
